Care & Sharpening

Proper care is essential to maintain the performance and longevity of your ScissorKing shears.

Cleaning
Wipe your scissors with a soft chamois cloth after each use to remove hair, product, and debris. At the end of the day, clean the blades and pivot area thoroughly. Apply a drop of oil weekly, then open and close the scissors to distribute it evenly—this helps protect and maintain smooth cutting.

Tension Adjustment
Check tension by gently opening and closing your scissors. The blades should close smoothly without falling shut. Use the included adjustment tool to tighten (clockwise) or loosen (counter-clockwise) the screw as needed.

Keeping safe
Always store your scissors in a dry, secure place—preferably in the case provided. Avoid leaving them exposed or in damp environments.

Sharpening
When sharpening is needed, trust only professionals experienced with high-quality Japanese-style shears. ScissorKing offers expert sharpening services at the best rates for our customers.
